    Bookings and payment
    All bookings are provisional until they have been confirmed in writing by ourselves. Confirmation will be dispatched within 7 days of the receipt of a completed booking form.   Authorities booking 3 or more places will be entitled to a 10% discount.

    Payment

    Invoices must be paid in full by no later than:

    28 days following their date of issue.

    Cancellations – Residential Course

    More than 21 days : no payment due

    21-8 days : 50% of course fee

    7 days or less : full fee

    Substitutions are permitted at any time

    Cancellations – Single Day Courses

    More than 15 working days : no payment due

    14-7 working days : £100.00 cancellation charge

    6 working days or less : full fee

    Substitutions are permitted at any time

    Training Materials

    Training materials provided by us during the course are for the sole benefit of the course participant. They must not be photocopied, scanned, faxed or otherwise distributed without our prior written permission. All intellectual rights remain the property of LAVAT Consulting Limited.

    Limitation of Liability

    In the unlikely event of a course not taking place as scheduled, and for whatever reason, the financial liability of LAVAT Consulting Limited  to each participant shall be limited to the value of monies paid by that participant for attendance on the course.

    At present we are in a jobseeker’s market, where employers are battling over the best talent and have to fill their recruitment needs as soon as possible. Employees have come to demand the best package possible. The area of flexible benefits and salary sacrifice is an evolving one within the public sector and can provide an advantage for recruiting and retaining key talent as well as providing a positive effect on your employees’ motivation and, in turn, their overall performance.

    It wouldn’t be a PSTAX seminar without us covering the technical side of employee benefits, so we will spend some time covering:

    • The tax treatment of some of the common types of benefits provided
    • The tax and NIC implications for employer discount arrangements and rewards such as vouchers
    • Reporting requirements, including form P11D, PAYE Settlement Agreements and a brief outline of benefit ‘payrolling’
    • The impact of Optional Remuneration Arrangements (‘OpRA’) on salary sacrifice and other benefits where there may be a cash alternative
    • The impact of salary sacrifice on the various public sector pension schemes

    We will then consider the wider issues of providing benefits in a way that meets employees’ needs to assist with recruitment and retention, as well as leading to cost savings for the employer. Therefore, we are delighted to announce that we will be joined at the seminar by guest speakers from three key providers of employee benefits within the public sector who will each cover their own specific areas of expertise and give us their valuable insight and experience:
