Colleagues from PSTAX and CRSTAX took part in the Public Sector Challenge London Bridges Walk 2026 last weekend, fundraising for national charities including the British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research UK. Our charity walkers were backed by colleagues across the wider group from S3TAX, who helped share the fundraising and support those taking part.

This was a great opportunity to support a public sector event we value, and raise money for charities that matter to many of the communities our clients serve. It also reflects what sits behind our work every day. We support public bodies that are under constant pressure to deliver the best possible outcomes with limited resources. That means getting the detail right, being clear on risk, and helping finance teams make decisions that stand up in practice.

At PSTAX, we work with local authorities and other Section 33 bodies on VAT and employment taxes, with a focus on practical help that protects budgets. When VAT treatment is unclear or partial exemption is tight, the cost is real and it usually lands at the worst time. Our job is to help teams spot issues early, sense-check decisions, and avoid spending time and money fixing problems later. The same public sector principles come up regularly in our work: stewardship of public money, accountability, consistency, and transparency.

That is why the Public Sector Challenge was an important charity event for us to take part in. It brings public sector teams together, shines a light on the causes many of us care about, and raises money for charities that matter to our communities.
