PSTAX Sponsors SLCC President in a New Chapter for Local Council Tax Support

PSTAX is proud to announce we’ve extended our ongoing partnership with the Society of Local Council Clerks (SLCC) by officially sponsoring the incoming SLCC President, Lance Allan, whose term begins next month (October 2025). This strategic commitment marks a significant new chapter in our shared goal of providing proactive and reliable tax support to the local council community.

This formal sponsorship is a direct, visible sign of our dedication to supporting the vital work of SLCC and its members. By strengthening our relationship, we aim to ensure that local councils have the expert and focused guidance they need to manage complex tax issues with confidence.

Building on a Successful SLCC Partnership

This new agreement builds upon a strong and established collaboration that began in 2023. Since then, we have proudly delivered support from our dedicated VAT helpline service to local councils via the PSTAX Club, powered by our team of expert consultants. Our specialists, with extensive experience from both Local Authorities and HMRC manage over 5,000 helpline queries a year from more than 300 clients from across the public sector.

Our commitment has also been visible on the ground, with our team becoming a regular face at SLCC events. We have actively supported the society by speaking at their finance conference, exhibiting at regional events, and providing direct, in-person support through tax surgeries and training courses. This consistent presence has allowed us to connect directly with clerks and understand their daily tax challenges. This new sponsorship of the SLCC president was the natural evolution of our successful partnership.

Apart from providing expert, responsive, and reliable tax support, Local Council Tax Club was created specifically to help those councils with Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) service delegation or asset transfers manage the consequent evolving tax and financial responsibilities.
• VAT Awareness E-learning Course: A brand new, accessible e-learning course designed to equip local council clerks with the essential VAT knowledge to carry out their duties confidently.
