December is a season of giving, and at PSTAX, our Director and Head of Employment Taxes, Angela Ferguson, showed the spirit of generosity by supporting the Talbot House Charity in Manchester with the Northern Women in Tax group to provide a heartwarming day of festive activities and brunch for the carers of elderly disabled adult offspring.
A day of giving back
The event, held at Talbot House in Manchester, brought together members of the Northern Women in Tax and friends from Brand Addition to create a special day for those caring for the charity’s clients. Angela dedicated one of her volunteering days from PSTAX to support the cause that provided a festive and uplifting experience offering a much-needed respite and a chance to celebrate the season amidst the challenges these families face.
Angela shared her experience, expressing the joy and fulfilment derived from the day. She emphasised the incredible work done by Talbot House in supporting older parents in their journey of caring for adult disabled children. The Manchester charity, active since 1976, has been a pillar of support for families facing the unique challenges associated with caring for individuals with learning disabilities.
The festive brunch was a lively affair, featuring Christmas carolling, a delicious buffet, and the sparkling cheer of Bucks Fizz. Volunteers were adorned with Christmas jumpers and festive fancy dress, creating a joyful and fun atmosphere for everyone involved. Beyond the festivities, the event served as a reminder of the importance of community, compassion, and support, especially during the Christmas season.
PSTAX’s commitment to community engagement
At PSTAX, we believe in making a positive impact not only in public sector taxation but also in the communities we serve. Angela’s involvement in supporting Talbot House reflects our commitment to social responsibility and underscores the power of collective efforts in making a difference.
